2021 FLINDERS FAMILY FUN DAY
This year’s event was bigger and better than ever, with over 25 agencies represented. Positive feedback has been received from the community, that the event was well facilitated with a wide range of agencies and information on offer. Special mention to “On the Right Track”, who were able to support 11 community members to successfully gain their Learners Permit, a fantastic result.
Many of those assisting on the day were seen sporting beautifully designed shirts sponsored by Heathgate and Leigh Creek Energy.
Pictured below is Terrance Coulthard who gave the Welcome to Country and shared with attendees the importance and history of the Adnyamathanha Flag.

NEW LEIGH CREEK OCA STAFF

George Parry has commenced as the new Leigh Creek Community Development Officer. Since emigrating to Australia from the UK in 2018 he has spent a lot of time in rural and remote communities around the country and fallen in love with the environment, communities and culture of Outback. In 2019 George moved to Marree to work at the pub and has been living and working between there and Adelaide ever since. His work in Adelaide was with PIRSA as a Fruit Fly Control Officer. George is just about settled in and is looking forward to getting to know everyone in town and establishing relationships with the communities of Outback SA.
Katharine has recently joined the OCA team as the Assets & Works Officer. Having always had a passion for touring the South Australian Outback, she has travelled and worked in the building trade with her husband Kim all over the countryside, from Roxby Downs, Eyre Peninsula, Kangaroo Island, Mt Gambier to far north Queensland. She also brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from working in other government agencies and is looking forward to becoming an active member of the Leigh community.
